Before meeting his partner, Rebecca, Gregg Kellogg purchased a custom home in the hills of San Rafael in the 90’s, designed by the celebrated architect Henrik Bull, FAIA in 1963. One day, long after Gregg and Rebecca had lived in and grown to love their Bull home, Rebecca noticed a man wandering in the garden – Henrik himself had stopped by to check up on the property. Using the late architect’s sketches as a starting point, the clients engaged Feldman Architecture to realize a design of a guest house that pays homage to the exquisitely detailed main house and the beautiful site, sensitively inserting modern design sensibilities into a mid-century context.
