Our client grew up in the home which was formerly owned by his parents. A recent addition to the family along with wanting to keep the property long term has prompted this major renovation – multi phased project. An ADU is being built which our clients will move into during the 2nd half of the renovation to thier main house. We are vaulting the ceilings and adding clerestory windows at the roof – along with modern amenities throughout.

Project Detail //
Before meeting his partner, Rebecca, Gregg Kellogg purchased a custom home in the hills of San Rafael in the 90’s, designed by the celebrated architect Henrik Bull, FAIA in 1963. One day, long after Gregg and Rebecca had lived in and grown to love their Bull home, Rebecca noticed a man wandering in the garden – Henrik himself had stopped by to check up on the property. Using the late architect’s sketches as a starting point, the clients engaged Feldman Architecture to realize a design of a guest house that pays homage to the exquisitely detailed main house and the beautiful site, sensitively inserting modern design sensibilities into a mid-century context.
